5423 sliding adhesive tape is used to reduce frictional resistance for improved and faster throughput, as well as to prevent abrasion. It provides protection wherever parts rub against one another, which can compromise functionality and appearance.
3M™ UHMW (ultra-high-molecular-weight) polyethylene sliding tapes have a highly lubricious surface due to their low coefficient of friction. They also offer excellent abrasion resistance. The optimal combination of these properties makes these adhesive tapes particularly suitable for use as sliding tapes. These tapes are also self-lubricating and resistant to moisture and many chemical agents. They repel most dry or paste-like substances and offer good puncture and impact resistance. 3M sliding tapes are available in various thicknesses and with different adhesive formulations.
